The seven episodes tell the story of the quest for Captain Grant and his two sailors, who were cast away on an unknown shore. A bottle is found in the stomac of a shark, containing three messages in three languages which tell of the fate that has befallen the survivers of the shipwreck. Damaged by the water, the documents are not quite informative, yet one figure is spared by the water - the 37th degree of Southern latitude. Lord Gle narvan, who has found the bottle, makes it his quest to find the lost captain. Together with his wife, Lady Elen and Captain Grant's children Mary and Robert, he sets out on board his own yacht the Duncan towards the many adventures and perils that await them.
